Leonid Vyacheslavovich Kurawljow ( Russian Леонид Вячеславович Куравлёв ; born October 8, 1936 in Moscow ) is a Soviet and Russian film actor .

Life

Leonid Kuravlyov is the son of a locksmith and a hairdresser. His mother was defamed in 1941 and forcibly relocated to the Murmansk region, where he lived with her for several years north of the Arctic Circle on the banks of the Imandra in the village of Sascheiek.

From 1955 he began training at the WGIK film school , where he studied acting with Boris Bibikow . As a student, he took on character roles . In 1959 Leonid Kuravlyov made his debut in Today there is no closing time! by Alexander Gordon and Andrei Tarkowski . Kurawljow, who mainly appeared in everyday films, embodied film characters full of joie de vivre with folk humor, especially under the director Vasily Schukschin , for example in From someone who went out to find love (1964) and Your son and brother (1965). In 1967, he played the main role of the philosophy student Choma Brut in the Gogol film adaptation of Wij . He was also able to prove his comic talent in the title role in Giorgi Danelias Let Afonja Do It (1975). Kuralev was married and has two children. After his wife's death in 2012, he withdrew from the public eye.
