Leonie Körtzinger (born March 25, 1997 in Kiel ) is a German beach volleyball player . She has lived in Hamburg since 2015, where she trains at the Olympic base in Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein .

Career

Smart Beach Tour 2017

In her youth, Körtzinger played indoor volleyball with the local FT Adler Kiel . In 2010 she started playing beach volleyball. With Levke Gramatke, she took part in various Schleswig-Holstein and German youth championships in 2012. In 2014 she played alongside Janne Wurl on the Schleswig-Holstein Our North Tour. With Sophie Nestler, she became German U19 runner-up in 2015 and played on the national Smart Beach Tour in 2016 . Together with Lena Ottens , she took third place at the U20-DM in 2016 and at the Smart Beach Cup in Duisburg in 2017. At the side of Sandra Seyfferth , Körtzinger played on the Smart Beach Tour in 2017. She reached third place in Dresden and won in Sankt Peter-Ording . Körtzinger / Seyfferth came fourth in the 1-star tournament of the World Tour in Shepparton , ninth in the 2-star tournament in Sydney and ninth in the German championship in Timmendorfer Strand . In 2018 Körtzinger played with Anika Krebs , Olympic champion Kira Walkenhorst and the reigning German champion Julia Sude , with whom she reached fourth place in the German championship .

Körtzinger has been playing with Sarah Schneider since 2019 . In addition to many national and international tournaments, the two also played the Beach Volleyball World Championship 2019 in Hamburg, where they achieved 17th place. They have been the official beach volleyball perspective team of the German Volleyball Association since 2020 . In June / July 2020 they took part in the Beach League and reached third place.

Professional

Leonie Körtzinger studied psychology at the University of Hamburg from 2016 to 2019 and will continue her studies at the Fernuniversität in Hagen in 2019 . She has also been a sports soldier in the Bundeswehr since November 2017 .
