Leopold Wackarž SOCist (born May 3, 1810 in Oberplan , Bohemia; † December 13, 1901 ) was the 41st Abbot of the Hohenfurth Monastery and the 43rd Abbot General of the Cistercian Order .

Born as Anton Wackarž, he entered the Cistercian monastery Hohenfurth in 1833, where he took the religious name Leopold. His solemn profession took place on March 1, 1835, and he was ordained a priest on August 15, 1836. On November 11, 1857 he was elected abbot by the convent; he held this office for 44 years until his death, making him the longest ruling abbot of the Hohenfurth monastery. On November 12, 1857 he received the benediction , colloquially " abbot consecration ". From 1875 he was elected vicar general of the congregation several times and in 1891 - at the age of 82 - abbot general of the order. As Abbot General in 1892 he witnessed the canonical secession of the Trappists by Pope Leo XIII. to their own order, the Cistercians of the Stricter Observance (OCR or OCSO). He himself remained Abbot General of the General Observance of the Cistercian Order (SOCist). He served in this capacity until 1900. Dedicated to the Mass in F major, op. 21 for choir and orchestra by Ludwig Rotter (1810–1895)
