history

The place is mentioned for the first time in 1297, Leoprechtung Palace then in 1342. With Christian von Watzmannsdorf, Leobrechting came into the hands of the Watzmannsdorf family in 1371. In 1527, Christoph II, the last male from Watzmannsdorf, died. In 1581 his heirs sold the castle and the manor to the Passau bishopric . From 1593 to 1803 the place belonged to the Leoprechting nursing court of the Hochstift Passau and was then secularized with most of the Hochstiftischen area in favor of Ferdinand of Tuscany . Since the peace treaties of Brno and Pressburg in 1805 , the place has belonged to Bavaria. Leoprechting belonged to the tax district Leoprechting in the Hutthurm office and gave its name to the municipality of the same name to which he originally belonged, founded in 1818 by the Bavarian municipal edict. In 1861 Leoprechting was the capital of the 23 towns in the Leoprechting community in the Passau I district court , had 141 inhabitants and belonged to the Catholic parish of Hutthurm. The other places in the community were then Bernbach , Büchlberg , Edthof , Freihof , Gummering , Gutwiesen , Haideck , Hofwirthmühl , Kringel , Neuhäuser , Oberkatzendorf , Obermühl , Praßreith , Reitberg , Saderreith , Schwieging , Schwolgau , Thannöd , Traxing , Unterkatzendorf , Witzingerreith and Wolfschiedelmühle . By 1900 the spellings of the places had changed significantly and the community still had 22 places, Hofwirthsmühl had been removed . In 1946 Leoprechting was reclassified to Hutthurm together with the districts of Bärnbach , Kringell and Neuhäuser . In 1949, Haizing , Kammerwetzdorf , Kittlmühle and Mitterbrünst from the Donauwetzdorf community were incorporated into Leoprechting. The municipality of Leoprechting was renamed the municipality of Büchlberg on April 14, 1950 . At the 1987 census there were 84 apartments in 52 buildings and 242 residents in the village.
