The 2002/03 season was the twelfth season of the Latvian Ice Hockey League , the highest Latvian ice hockey league . Master was for the third time in the history of the HK Liepājas Metalurgs .

In the main round, the six teams played 20 games each. All six teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played, with the first two of the main round qualified directly for the playoff semifinals. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
