The 2005/06 season was the 15th season of the Latvian Ice Hockey League , the highest Latvian ice hockey league . Champion was for the fourth time in the club history of HK Riga 2000 .

In the main round, the seven teams played 30 games each. All seven teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. In the first play-off round, the first place in the main round had a bye. Each team received three points for a win after regular time, each team received two points for a win after overtime, one point for a loss after overtime and zero points for a defeat after regular time.
