The HK Ogre (until 2009 ASK / Ogre) is an ice hockey club founded in 2003 in the city of Ogre in Latvia , which played in the Latvian ice hockey league until 2011 . The home games of the club teams were played in the Vidzemes ledus hall , which has 1,880 spectators.

history

The army sports club was founded in 2003 as ASK / Ogre and from then on took part in the Latvian ice hockey league. In addition, the club belonged in the 2003/04 season of the East European Hockey League and finished ninth.

In the 2008/09 season the club also took part in the Belarusian open championship and finished 12th. In the summer of 2009, the Latvian Armed Forces ended their sponsorship of the club and the club was on the verge of bankruptcy. Since then he has been called HK Ogre. After the 2010/11 season , which the club finished ninth and last, he withdrew from playing the Latvian ice hockey league.
