Li Jinzi
Li Jinzi (born March 4, 1990 in Heilongjiang Province ) is a Chinese boxer . She became world champion in 2008 and vice-world champion in the middleweight division in 2006 and 2010 .
Career
All that is known about Li Jinzi is that she comes from Heilongjiang Province and started boxing when she was 13. Her development must have happened very quickly, because at the age of 16 she took part in the Chinese women's middleweight championship, which first took place in 2006, and won the championship there with a knockout victory over Wang Shaotang from Anhui province . She then also took part in the world championship this year in New Delhi and won the second round over Hatice Alic, Turkey , a point win over Olga Novikowa from Ukraine (17:16) and a point defeat in the final battle against Lekha Kozhummed Chettadi from India (9:30) Vice World Champion.
In 2008 she was in Guwahati / India with a demolition win in the 2nd round over Andaraweera Nilanhti, Sri Lanka and a point win over Gora Renu from India (7: 1) Asian middleweight champion. Li Jinzi presented himself in outstanding form at the World Championships in Ningbo / China . There she became world champion in a superior style and defeated the following fighters on points: Marija Jaworskaja, Russia (10: 0), Ludmilla Turcin (10: 2), Amber Konikow , Canada (9: 0) and Anna Laurell from Sweden (9 : 0) :1). If you add up the scored hits from these four fights, you get an impressive result of 38: 3 in favor of Li Jinzi.
In 2009 Li Jinzi met the two-time world champion in the weight class up to 66 kg, Mary Spencer from Canada , who had moved up to the middleweight division, and lost this fight on points (2: 4) at the Ahmet Comert tournament in Istanbul . At the international women's tournament in St. Petersburg in July of this year, she met two-time Russian world champion Irina Sinezkaja in the final and defeated her on points (10: 7). World or Asian championships did not take place in 2009.
In 2010 Li Jinzi wanted to defend her world middleweight title from 2008 at the world championship in Bridgetown / Barbados. She also defeated Fetti Paraschiva from Romania (11: 4), Sinead Kavanagh from Ireland (9: 3), Elif Guneri from Turkey (5: 2) and Maria Kovacs from Hungary (+10: 10) on points and scored in the final back to Mary Spencer. In this fight she found no means to slow them down in their forward thrust and clearly lost with 2:14 points. After 2006, she became vice world champion again in 2010. The Asian Games were held in Guangzhou in November 2010 . Li Jinzi took 1st place in the middleweight division with points wins over Supaporn Srisondee, Thailand (10: 2) and. Kavita Goyat, India (5: 1) and a demolition victory in the 4th round over Undram Erdenesoyol from Mongolia .
In 2012, women's boxing was included in the program of the Olympic Games for the first time. Li Jinzi qualified and won the bronze medal after losing to Nadezhda Torlopova in the semifinals.
