Irina Vladimirovna Sinezkaja ( Russian Ирина Владимировна Синецкая ; born December 25, 1978 in Kochubeevskoye , Stavropol region ) is a Russian boxer . She is multiple world and European champion of amateur boxers.

Career

Irina Sinezkaya grew up in Stavropol , where she belongs to the sports organization "Sun". She is a boxer from the very beginning, because she took part in the first Women's European Cup in 1999, which took place in Köping / Sweden . The European Cup competitions, there was another one in Mâcon / France in 2000 , were the predecessors of the European Women's Championships that started in 2001. She is or was trained by VA Weselow and DS Candar. At the beginning of her career, she started in light welterweight (up to 63.5 kg body weight at that time), but grew over the course of her career to light heavyweight (up to 80 kg body weight), but was not afraid to box against heavyweights.

At the 1st Women's European Cup in Köping / Sweden, Irena Sinezkaja won the light welterweight division with a demolition win in the 2nd round in the final over Nurhayat Hicyekmazer from Turkey . She was also victorious in the 2nd European Cup competition in Macon / France in 2000, this time in the welterweight division . In the final battle she beat Kiymet Karpuzoglu from Turkey on points. In November 2000, Irina Sinezkaja was in a Russian team that played two international matches against the United States in Somerville and Salem . In the light welterweight division, she lost the first fight against Melissa Fiorentino on points (7:10), but beat Stephanie Jaramillo with a 2-1 referee vote in the second fight. In 2001 she became the first European champion in the weight class up to 66 kg in France in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux . In doing so, she defeated her three opponents prematurely. Sybilla Marks from Germany in the 2nd round, Ivett Pruzinszky from Hungary in the 3rd round and Esther Durand from France in the 1st round. In December 2001 she succeeded in winning the first women's world championship in Scranton / USA in the weight class up to 67 kg and becoming world champion. On the way to this success she won over Csilla Bodo from Hungary (26: 6) and over Mehtap Bakis from Turkey (27: 6) clearly on points and beat Tristan Whiston from Canada in the first round and Natalie Brown from the United States id 1st round by breaking off.

In 2002 Irina Sinezkaja also became world champion at the second women's world championship , which took place in Antalya. She won in the weight class up to 67 kg in front of Natalie Brown from the United States, Tina Hansen from Denmark and Desi Kontos from Argentina . In 2003 she won the European Championship at the European Championships in Pécs / Hungary, where she won in the weight class up to 66 kg in front of Oleksandra Koslan , Ukraine , Kiymet Karpuzoglu and Csilla Csejtei from Hungary. In 2004 she won the Russian championship, and it can be assumed that she won this title in previous years, but the results are not known. In addition, she became European champion in the same weight class in Riccione / Italy in 2004, ahead of Anna Ingman from Sweden, Mehtap Bakis, Norway and Larissa Pop from Romania . The individual results of these three championships are unfortunately not known either.

In 2005, Irina Sinezkaja suffered a point defeat in the final of the 2nd World Cup for women in Podolsk in the weight category up to 66 kg against Mary Spencer from Canada (21:28) and therefore "only" took 2nd place. Before that she had defeated Elizabeth Querado, USA on points (35:16) and Yvonne Rasmussen from Denmark by breaking off in the 2nd round at this World Cup. In 2006 she was then at the World Championships in New Delhi in the light heavyweight (class up to 80 kg body weight) and was also able to fully convince in this weight class. She won there over Selma Yağcı from Turkey (14:10), Beata Malek , Poland (21:19) and in the final over Chatiqua Hemingway from the United States (13: 6) on points and thus became world champion In for the third time in the following years it started increasingly only at the national championships or tournaments in Russia. In 2008 she became Russian runner-up in the heavyweight division (at that time weight class up to 91 kg body weight), but after winning points in the semifinals over Nadezhda Torlopova (38:26) in the final against Anna Gladkitsch because of an injury, she could no longer compete. In 2009 Irina Sinezkaja and Anna Gladkitsch faced each other in the semifinals of the Russian middleweight championship . Irina Sinezkaja clearly won this fight with 50: 6 points. In the final, she also defeated Swetlana Kossowa . In the same year she started again at the European Championships in Nikolajew / Ukraine in the middleweight division and won there with a demolition win in the 3rd round over Elif Guneri from Turkey, a point win over Anita Ducza from Hungary (8: 1) and a point win via Lilija Durnejewa from Ukraine (8: 3) the fourth European title.

In March 2010, women's competitions were held for the first time at the Grand Prix in Ústí nad Labem, namely in the fly, light and middleweight classes, i.e. the weight classes that will be Olympic for the first time at the 2012 Games in London . Irina Sinezkaja started there in the middleweight division and won this tournament with points wins over the former world champions Mária Kovács from Hungary (12: 5) and Anna Laurell from Sweden (4: 2), as well as points wins over Desislawa Lazarewa from Bulgaria (2: 1) and Lidija Fidura from Poland (4: 1). A month later she lost in the final of the Russian championship against Inna Sagaidakowskaja just on points (4: 5) and was therefore not used at the World Cup in Bridgetown / Barbados .

Irina Sinezkaja's goal will be to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games in London . She came a big step closer to this goal at the Russian championship in 2011, because she won the heavyweight title there with a point win in the final over Valentina Michailina. She then competed at the European Championships this year in Rotterdam , where she won clearly on points over Diana Gherghel from Romania (25: 8) and Daniela Vernic from Croatia (35: 6). In the final, however, she lost to the former world champion Semsi Yarali by just a few points (10:12) and therefore had to be satisfied with second place.
