Geography and history

The body of water is located 20 km northeast of Weiden . The reservoir is located in the upper reaches of the Waldnaab (Tirschenreuther Waldnaab). The flood retention basin was built between 1965 and 1968. In the 1990s, the system was modernized twice. The dam consists of loose earth material.
