Elisabeth Migchelsen , called Liesbeth , (born March 11, 1971 in Harderwijk ; † May 27, 2020 ) was a Dutch football player and coach.

Career

Player

Migchelsen began her adult career with first division club SV Saestum , which she left in 2000 with the Dutch championship title and moved to the German Bundesliga promoted FFC Heike Rheine in the 2000/01 season. After the 2004/05 season and 100 competitive games for Rheine, she returned to her home country and played for Fortuna Wormerveer for two years . In 2008 and 2009, she was able to crown her last two seasons as active at AZ Alkmaar with the championship title in the Eredivisie .

National team

Migchelsen played 95 international matches for the Dutch women's national football team until she retired in 2008 , but was not able to qualify for any major tournament, such as World or European Championships , in her active career .

trainer

Migchelsen worked as a trainer for various club teams and as assistant trainer for the Dutch U-19 national team. During the men's European football championship in Poland and Ukraine in 2012 , she acted as a scout for the Russian Football Association on the staff of head coach Dick Advocaat . For the 2013/14 season Migchelsen replaced the former Czech national player Jitka Klimková as coach of the Australian first division club Canberra United FC .
