League of Historical Cities
The League of Historical Cities (German "League of Historical Cities") is an association of international "historical cities" founded in Japan in 1987. The headquarters of the non-profit organization is in Kyoto, Japan .
Members are 117 cities (as of 2018) from 65 countries and regions on five continents. The City League is a partner of the United Nations Program for Human Settlements (UN-HABITAT), the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC).
World Conference of Historical Cities
The international World Conference of Historical Cities takes place roughly every two years in one of the partner cities :
