The downy sea lavender is a perennial herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 15 to 25 centimeters. The leaves are oblong-ovate, with short stalk and star-haired, soft-felted. The leaf margin is wavy and more or less whole. The main branches of the inflorescence are weakly winged. The calyx is trimmed, red-violet, finely serrated and five-pointed. The flowers are colored white.

The flowering period extends from February to April.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 14.

Occurrence

The fluffy sea ​​lavender occurs on the Canary Islands Fuerteventura and Lanzarote on stony slopes.
