Lina Canalejas (actually Concepción Álvarez Canalejas ; born January 29, 1932 in Madrid , Spain ; † September 1, 2012 there ) was a Spanish actress.

Live and act

Lina Canalejas was born into a family of artists in 1932. She was the daughter of the violinist Manuel Álvarez Trigo and the granddaughter of the pianist and composer Arturo Canalejas , her brother was the actor José Canalejas . After training in classical ballet, she joined a folklore group with which she toured Spain. She then turned to music theater , especially its Revue sub-form . As a stage actress, she made her debut alongside Ismael Merlo in the play La vida en un bloc . During her theater career she combined both new musical shows and comedies ( Prohibido suicidarse en primavera , Mayores con reparos , Los arcángeles no juegan al billar , Irma la Douce ) or dramas such as La Casa de las Chivas (1970). She did not appear in many, but in important movies and worked with directors such as Carlos Saura , José María Forqué , Fernando Fernán Gómez and Pedro Almodóvar . She appeared on television in various Spanish series. She also made a brief appearance in the German evening series On behalf of Madame .
