Life

Canalejas, brother of actress Lina Canalejas (1932–2012) and brother-in-law of actress Lina Yegros (1914–1978), was one of the busiest performers of substantial supporting roles during the wedding of the Spaghetti Westerns . Like Frank Braña , Lorenzo Robledo , Aldo Sambrell and Antonio Molino Rojo belonging to the Stock Company of the films shot in Spain, he was seen as a bandit, soldier, Mexican or ranch worker, also in classics of the genre such as For a Fistful of Dollars , For a few more dollars and Django .

Canalejas had started in the 1950s in the Compañia de Comedias under Antonio Puga and received a film role for the first time in 1958; after the waning of the western wave, he appeared in various other genres ; Occasionally there were also leading roles among his 100 or so roles, for example in The Return of the Riding Corpses , in which he played the retarded Murdo. In the mid-1970s he directed two films that were not very successful. His cinema and television career ended in 1997.
