action
Along the border of the Confederate States of America and from Mexico, now ruled by Maximilian von Habsburg with French arms, there is an unsteady peace, repeatedly interrupted by skirmishes. The Americans used every opportunity to attack the outposts to support the Mexican patriots. In the area of the Rio Bravo there are also sudden attacks by the Wichita Indians who claim the land for themselves.
Some soldiers, led by Captain Clermont, seek refuge from these reenactments at Fort Sharp, where Confederate Colonel Lennox is waging his private war. The situation escalates when Lennox uses prisoners as human shields against the Indian attacks. The Colonel's actions and instructions show more and more that he has gone mad. Captain Clermont's job is to get the mutiny under control within the fort as well as to continue to fight off external attacks. After the accidental death of the Colonel, the French and the Americans become friends.
criticism
“The script is extremely entertaining, even if the role of the Indians is pretty one-dimensional. The focus of attention, however, is the human drama, and this is captured intensely and captivatingly and is excellently accompanied by Savina's dramatic music, ”writes Christian Keßler
