Lincoln Corsair is a passenger car model from the premium brand Lincoln, part of the Ford Motor Company .
overview
The car was first presented at the 2019 New York Auto Show . According to the manufacturer, its name is inspired by the Latin word "cursus" (in German "Reise"). The model is based on the platform of the group brothers Ford Escape and Ford Kuga .
The appearance of the model should be based on the larger Navigator and Aviator models . It has two rows of seats and should be very quiet inside; for this, extra sound insulation was used and an active noise control system was installed. Warning tones are played by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra .
Versions
At the start there are two gasoline-powered four - cylinder engines with exhaust gas turbocharging. The first engine is a 2.0 liter engine with an output of 250 hp (186 kW) and a maximum torque of 280 lb f · ft (380 N · m) and the other is a 2.3 liter engine with an output of 295 hp (220 kW) and a maximum torque of 310 lb f · ft (420 N · m); (Data with 93-AON fuel (comparable to Super Plus) determined according to the standard SAE J1349). The engine is linked to an automatic transmission with eight speed levels. The torque is transmitted to all four wheels, which are individually suspended.
Lincoln presented the plug-in hybrid version of the Corsair at the LA Auto Show in November 2019 . The technology from the Ford Kuga is used for the drive technology . The battery storage should have a capacity of 14.4 kWh , with which the car should drive 40 km purely electrically, according to the factory.
