Linda Kisabaka

Linda Kisabaka (born April 9, 1969 in Wuppertal ) is a former German athlete and Olympic medalist who was successful in the 400-meter and 800-meter races in the 1990s . Her greatest success is the bronze medal at the 1996 Olympic Games with the 4 x 400 meter relay.

After several years on the 400-meter course, she specialized in the 800-meter course in 1996 on the advice of Nico Motchebon . She did not achieve medal successes at international highlights, but with a lead time of 1: 58.54 min at the German Championships in 1996 she was able to occupy sixth place in the world rankings. In the postseason she achieved a time of 1: 58.24 minutes; In 1996 and 1997 she became German champion. In 2001 she ended her sports career.

Linda Kisabaka, whose father comes from Zaire , first started for the LG Bayer 04 Leverkusen (coach: Gerd Osenberg ), later for the LAZ Leipzig . Her trainer was Cheik-Idriss Gonchinska , who also trained Nico Motchebon . In her active days she was 1.66 m tall and weighed 51 kg. She has a degree in business administration and a doctorate in the field of marketing.

After her sports career, Kisabaka worked for DB Regio Südost in Leipzig and was responsible for marketing. She then worked for the railway company Abellio Rail Mitteldeutschland and will move to the Augsburger Verkehrsverbund as managing director on February 1, 2021 .
