The Lindenberg , also known as Lindelberg , is a 545 meter high, elongated, narrow mountain on the southern edge of Franconian Switzerland between Ermreuth and Oberlindelbach in the south of Upper Franconia . The summit area and the northern slope are in the municipality of Neunkirchen am Brand and the southern slope belongs to the municipality of Igensdorf . The highest point is in the western part of the mountain. The eastern summit, about a kilometer away, is about twelve meters lower at 533 meters. The completely forested mountain rises between the Saarbachtal and the Lindelbach. The latter rises on the southern slope of the mountain.

The entire area of the elongated, about 1500 meters long and 200 meters wide summit plateau is occupied by a ring wall ( Lindelberg ring wall ), which is believed to have originated in the early La Tène period , in the southwest corner of which is the so-called Burgstall Lindelberg, which is also called Burgstall Lindelburg on maps, lies. This castle stable , which is located at the highest point of the Lindenberg at 545 meters, is probably an early medieval fortification.

From 1933 to the 1960s there were three beacons for Nuremberg Airport on the mountain.

To the west of the mountain, the road from Neunkirchen am Brand to Ermreuth runs over an approximately 500 meter high pass near the mountain. There is a parking lot for hikers at the pass, from which the mountain is easy to reach.
