The Linderhauser Senke is a small-scale natural space unit with the order number 337 1 .30 in the urban area of the Westphalian city of Schwelm and the Bergisch city of Wuppertal within the Wuppertal valley (natural space unit 337 1 .3). For the most part, it follows the course of Linderhauser Strasse in the Wuppertal urban area and that of Gevelsberger Strasse in Schwelmer urban area.
The shallow valley basin (200 m) occupies the north-west of Schwelmer and the south-east of Wuppertal's district of Nahe , and is open to the Wupper in the west. In the north and east rise higher ridges made of schist and greywacke , which belong to the Haßlinghauser ridge (337 1 .15). Also in the east, a flat watershed separates the Wupper and Ennepe catchment areas . This is where the Ennepetal longitudinal sinks connect, which are located in the natural spatial unit of the Lower Ennepetal (337 2 .0). In the south, the Linderhauser Ridge (337 1 .32) separates the depression from the Schwelm mass limestone valley (337 1 .31).
The depression itself consists of strongly karstified mass limestone with sinkholes like in the nature reserve Im Hölken , dry valleys and small stalactite caves . The natural area is mainly used for agriculture.
