Lindscheid is a part of the municipality of Tholey and is located in the northern Saarland in the district of St. Wendel . It is located in the so-called Bohnental and is part of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park .

At the end of 2014, Lindscheid had 368 inhabitants, making it the smallest district in the municipality.

history

Lindscheid was first mentioned in a document in 1258 under the name Lindschad . Was assigned to the canton of Tholey until 1814 , in the Moselle department . On January 1, 1974, Lindscheid was incorporated into the municipality of Tholey.

There is also the volunteer fire brigade, which was founded in 1962. Today the Lindscheid fire fighting district belongs to the Tholey volunteer fire department.

Culture

A number of events and festivals take place during the year. In addition to the annual festivities organized by the clubs (summer festival of the TTC, open day of the fire brigade, Rose Monday carnival ball of the women's gymnastics club), the traditional Whitsun festival is also celebrated here. This was extended to 3 days in 2008 as part of a 750 year celebration.

In the local area there is also a leisure facility with a grill hut, swimming pool and water treading facility.
