Lino Esterino Garavaglia OFMCap (born September 9, 1927 in Mesero , † June 12, 2020 in Cesena ) was an Italian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Cesena-Sarsina .

Life

Lino Esterino Garavaglia joined the religious order of the Capuchins , made his first profession on August 15, 1948 and his perpetual profession on August 15, 1951 . On December 5, 1954, he received the sacrament of ordination in Milan Cathedral .

Pope John Paul II named him Coadjutor Bishop of Tivoli on February 11, 1986 . The secretary of the Congregation for Bishops , Archbishop Lucas Moreira Neves OP , donated to him on March 8 of that year in the Roman church of Santa Maria della Consolazione the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were Vincenzo Fagiolo , Secretary of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life , and Guglielmo Giaquinta , Bishop of Tivoli. His episcopal motto was "In caritate radicati".

With Guglielmo Giaquinta's resignation, he succeeded him on June 25, 1987 as Bishop of Tivoli. On March 25, 1991 he was appointed Bishop of Cesena-Sarsina. On December 3, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.

Lino Garavaglia died at the age of 92 in a care home in Cesena.
