Pietro Garlato

Pietro Garlato (born January 10, 1928 in Udine , † April 29, 2013 in Tivoli ) was Bishop of Tivoli .

Life

Pietro Garlato was ordained a priest for the diocese of Concordia on July 1, 1951 . He was general secretary of the Vicariate of Rome and from 1985 to 1988 delegate of the Pontifical Central Commission for Religious Art in Italy.

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Palestrina on April 2, 1986 . The cardinal vicar Ugo Poletti donated him episcopal ordination on April 19 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were Ennio Appignanesi , Weiherzbischof in Rome , and Plinio Pascoli , Auxiliary Bishop of Rome.

On December 30, 1991 he was appointed Bishop of Tivoli . He was named President of the National Council of the Italian Bishops' Conference (CEI) for the Heritage of the Church in 1994.

On July 5, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
