Lion-Russell Baumann (* 1992 in Nuremberg ) is a German actor .

Life

Lion-Russell Baumann, born in Middle Franconia , later grew up in Herdern in Baden-Württemberg . He already played theater as a teenager, where he gained his first stage experience during his school days at the Waldorf School in Freiburg-Wiehre . He was also a member of the youth club of the Freiburg Theater . In 2010, at the age of 17, he took part in the Freiburg theater project “Station Leben”, in which healthy and sick young people played theater together, where he played the young man Martin with cancer.

In 2013 he was in a Faust adaptation, in which he played the "supple seducer" Mephistopheles, on tour in Germany for three months. In 2014 he was on stage in Franz Kafka's The Metamorphosis in the P14 youth theater of the Volksbühne on Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin . From 2014 to 2016 he attended the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), where he and his girlfriend at the time, the actress Antonia Hölzel, were accepted. After receiving an offer from London, he left the ZHdK and completed his acting studies at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) by summer 2018 . During his studies he played classical and modern roles in several student productions at LAMDA and made guest appearances at the Bush Theater in London. In 2017 he received a grant from the Sir John Gielgud Charitable Trust.

Baumann has appeared in short films , music videos and international TV series such as Victoria .

In the science fiction series Spides , which was broadcast on SYFY Germany in March / April 2020 , he played a continuous series role in which he played the role of the “charismatic nurse” Peter Lawson, a confidante of the main female character Nora Berger ( Rosabell Laurenti Sellers ). In the 11th season of the ZDF series SOKO Stuttgart (2020), alongside Simon Licht and Laura Philipp , he took on a leading role as the suspect, professionally unsuccessful son of the owner of a supermarket chain in Stuttgart .

Baumann lives in Berlin . The filmmaker and author Tibor Baumann (* 1985) is his brother.
