Lisa Middelhauve (* 28. November 1980 in Bielefeld as Lisa Saddle Phaus ) is a German singer , pianist and songwriter . She gained fame as the lead singer of the symphonic metal band Xandria , of which she was a member from 2000 to 2008.
biography
Childhood and youth
She started playing the keyboard at the age of three . At the age of six she took violin lessons , which she gave up a few years later. From then on she devoted herself to playing the piano and began composing her own songs at the age of 13. In the following years she also learned the technique of opera singing , but without developing a classical opera voice. Her first stage experience was playing the piano, for example when she performed Ave Maria at weddings.
Xandria (2000-2008 and 2010)
After being discovered by band leader Marco Heubaum, she joined the German symphonic metal band Xandria as lead singer in 2000. The debut album Kill The Sun was released in May 2003. Three more studio albums followed before she left Xandria on April 30, 2008 for personal reasons.
In spring 2010 she briefly returned to Xandria to support the band in some live performances after the departure of their singer Kerstin Bischof.
As a guest singer (2010-2011)
At the end of 2010, Lisa Middelhauve joined the French symphonic metal band Whyzdom as a guest singer , with whom she gave several concerts. Other guest appearances followed with the band Serenity , including on their 2011 European tour with Delain .
Solo career (since 2009)
Lisa Middelhauve has been composing her own songs since 2009 and published them on various Internet media. An official solo album has not yet been released.
Private life
In August 2005 she married Nils Middelhauve, who was the bass player for Xandria at the time. The separation was announced on December 16, 2013.
Others
In October 2010 Lisa Middelhauve was one of the founders of the Eve's Apple project , an association of professional rock and metal singers. The members included Elize Ryd ( Amaranthe , Kamelot ), Manuela Kraller (Ex-Xandria), Ailyn (Ex- Sirenia ), Charlotte Wessels (Delain) and Dianne van Giersbergen (Ex-Xandria, Ex Libris). The end of the project was announced on November 30, 2013.
