List of architectural monuments in Marktheidenfeld
The monuments of the Lower Franconian town of Marktheidenfeld are compiled on this page . This table is a partial list of the list of architectural monuments in Bavaria . The basis is the Bavarian Monument List , which was first drawn up on the basis of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act of October 1, 1973 and has since been managed by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation . The following information does not replace the legally binding information from the monument protection authority. This list reflects the update as of April 20, 2020 and contains 96 monuments.
Ensembles
Mainkai Ensemble
The ensemble includes the area of the Main Quay, which, as a medieval fortification of Marktheidenfeld, also cordoned off the city from the Main. The river-side wall was probably abandoned in the 18th century in favor of a built-up quay front. The tramline, which connects the city center to the former Main Ferry, ends in the middle of the quay. This axis lost its importance with the construction of the Main Bridge (1839–46), as this created a complete reorientation of the traffic that ran through the city. The mostly two-storey and mainly eaves-side houses and farm houses, mainly from the late 18th and 19th centuries, combine to form a dense, relatively simple row of houses. The ensemble includes the planting of trees along the street, which was probably laid out in the second half of the 19th century, now shields the street from the Main River and at the same time gives it a promenade-like character ( location ). Boundary: Mainkai 1-24, Fahrgasse 12, Glasergasse 22, Herrengasse 11, Obere Gasse 17, 24, Schenkgasse 4, Stiergasse 11. File number: E-6-77-157-1.
Market consolidation
Remnants of the local wall built before 1420 are preserved in an oval arch made of quarry stone with loopholes, open to the Main. It is possible that overbuilt remnants of the former course of the wall on the side of the Main have been preserved along the rear parcel boundaries of the Mainkai street. Demolition of the three gates in the 19th century, further losses in the 2nd half of the 20th century. File number: D-6-77-157-1.

Remarks
- ↑ This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
