List of architectural monuments in Marktzeuln

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The monuments of the Upper Franconian market Marktzeuln are compiled on this page . This table is a partial list of the list of architectural monuments in Bavaria . The basis is the Bavarian Monument List , which was first drawn up on the basis of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act of October 1, 1973 and has since been managed by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation . The following information does not replace the legally binding information from the monument protection authority. This list reflects the update status as of July 3, 2018 and contains 60 architectural monuments.

The Ensemble ( location ) includes the historical location of the local on the north bank of the Rodach applied market place . In addition to the central market street Am Flecken, this includes various side streets, mainly in lower areas in the east and on the river bank.

The place name of the region populated by Thuringians and shaped by them since the 6th century under Franconian rule means something like thicket, bushes, bushes. The establishment of the settlement is assumed to be in the 8th century, the undated first mention in a Bamberg traditional note is contained in a document from 1071, but the place is probably older. In 1327 the place was recorded as part of the sovereign rulership of the Bamberg prince-bishop . The local conflicts during the Reformation period and the Counter Reformation took up the period between 1534 and 1619. The market privileges go back to the time before 1565 and were extended several times up to 1706. The fire in the town hall was followed by the pillage of the entire town by Swedish troops in 1646 during the Thirty Years' War . The town hall, built between 1689 and 1695, is a sign of the reconstruction and the flourishing as a market town. In addition to the market and handicrafts, rafting played an important role on the Rodach. In 1803 the market town came to the Kingdom of Bavaria as part of the Bamberg territories .

The Upper Gate and the Graitzer Gate are still preserved from the fencing of the almost rectangular layout of the town. The backbone of the overall structure is the Markstrasse Am Flecken . Most of the representative half-timbered buildings that were built between the end of the 17th and the first half of the 18th century are concentrated there. A special spatial constellation is given by the retaining wall between the middle section of Am Flecken and the Oberm Rathaus area. Only at the southeast end of Marktstrasse are there significant modern changes, which are primarily associated with the construction of the bridge over the Rodach in 1970. The relocation of the route to the west and its widening fell victim to several historical buildings. The small-scale side streets south and east of Marktstrasse Am Flecken are characterized by groups of houses that rarely form longer lines. The originally socially disadvantaged population can be recognized by the historical building fabric. In addition to structural evidence of agriculture, there is the oldest dated private building in the market town, the Koppenhof, whose massive basement was built at the beginning of the 17th century.

In addition to the street area Am Flecken , the publication of the homeland security movement Das deutsche Dorf - Süddeutschland also documented the general view of Marktzeuln from the river side before the First World War. File number: E-4-78-144-1.

Remarks

  1. This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The monument property - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the monument atlas or the entry in the Bavarian monument list. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
