List of architectural monuments in the Southland region

The list of monuments in the Southland region includes all monuments and landmarks in the New Zealand Southland region that have been classified as " Historic Places " or "Historic Area" by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust (NZHPT) . The information comes from the register of the NZHPT. The names of the architectural monuments are based on this register. Well-known Wahi Tapu (Area), culturally and religiously significant sites and areas of the Māori , are also included in the list. However, they are usually not published.

On May 11, 2013, 127 buildings and monuments (excluding Waihi Tapu) were identified in the region, including 35 Category 1, 88 Category 2 and four Historic Areas (HA). The list is complete as of May 11, 2013.

The following localities with more than five monuments have their own lists of monuments, all others are summarized in the table below.
