List of architectural monuments in the Bay of Plenty region

The list of monuments in the Bay of Plenty region includes all monuments and landmarks in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty region that have been classified as " Historic Places " or "Historic Area" by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust (NZHPT). The information comes from the register of the NZHPT. The names of the architectural monuments are based on this register. Well-known Wahi Tapu (Area), culturally and religiously significant sites and areas of the Māori , are also included in the list. However, they are usually not published.


On May 31, 2013, 267 buildings and monuments (excluding the unpublished Waihi Tapu) were identified in the region, of which 11 were Category 1 Historic Places, 233 Category 2 Historic Places, three Historic Areas, eight Wahi Tapu and twelve Wahi Tapu Area.

The list includes the entries of Category 1 and the Historic Areas as well as at least basic entries of all Historic Places Category 2 as of May 31, 2013.

The following localities with more than five monuments have their own lists of monuments, all others are summarized in the table below.
