List of architectural monuments in the Waikato region
This list of monuments in the Waikato region including all the New Zealand Historic Places Trust as a memorial (Historic Place Category I, II or Historic area) classified buildings and areas of protected buildings of the New Zealand Region Waikato Crucial to the information provided unless otherwise stated, the information in Register of the NZHPT, the spelling of the lemmas / designations is based as far as possible on the naming in this register, as far as articles are not already available.
The list also includes Waihi Tapu / Waihi Tapu Area (culturally and religiously significant sites and areas of the Māori ), which are currently often not published on the publicly accessible pages of the NZHPT.
In May 2013, 493 buildings and monuments were identified in the region, including 54 Historic Places of Category 1 and 406 Historic Places of Category 2 as well as six Historic Areas, 14 Waihi Tapu and 13 Wai Tapu Areas. The following list includes at least basic entries of all monuments as of June 2, 2013. The following localities with more than five monuments have their own monument lists, all others are summarized in the table below.
