List of International Masters (Awarded 1952)
The list of International Masters in 1952 lists all chess players who received the title of International Masters in 1952 from the World Chess Federation FIDE . As in previous years, the award was based on the outstanding tournament and competition results of the respective players.
Since Robert Byrne's death in April 2013, none of the 14 honored players has been alive. Four of the 14 players later achieved the title of grandmaster (including Tigran Petrosjan, a later world champion ), and another was later awarded the title of honorary grandmaster .
