Residential house, presumably a cottage St. Jacober Nebenstrasse 13
(map)
1736 Dendro Half-timbered building with artfully slated gable ends in very good original condition of architectural and urban value.

Monument text:

Two-storey half-timbered house, standing at the eaves on the street, possibly built or rebuilt around 1800. A single-storey extension with a monopitch roof on the gable side and a two-storey extension with a gable roof on the rear eaves side. The main building and the rear annex are massive on the ground floor. In the living room area, the plank wall of a block room could have been preserved, which is not visible due to plastering. The upper floor is built in half-timbering, as is the gable. The half-timbered construction was given a beautiful, partly decorated slate to protect it from the weather. The window openings are arranged regularly. These are rectangular windows of the same size, so that interventions in the framework construction are hardly to be expected.

The building is completed by a steep gable roof. The courtyard side shows an unclad half-timbered construction, partly also on the ground floor. The interior has been preserved in an authentic building design. Examples include numerous frame panel doors and a wooden banister on the stairs leading to the first floor.

The house is of great importance in terms of the history of the house because of its authenticity and of great importance in terms of urban development because of its formative urban structure. (LfD / 2012)

According to Dendro "1736", the ground floor was solid, the upper floor was half-timbered, the gable sides were artfully slated, the ground floor still had wooden window frames, some of the windows were original, the eaves side was made of artificial slate, the doorway was made of natural stone, now a forge opposite.

Residential stable house (No. 26), side building (No. 26c), former barn (today residential building, No. 26a) and two archways of a four-sided courtyard St. Niclaser Hauptstrasse 26; 26a; 26c
(card)
around 1800 Multiple overformed building complex of half-timbered buildings, striving half-timbered, of value that defines the townscape.

Courtyard complex that has been redesigned several times with permission under monument protection law: The courtyard complex was registered as a cultural monument by the regional monument maintenance department of the State Office for Monument Preservation. Funding from the Chemnitz Regional Council was granted for various parts of the farm.

The four-sided courtyard consists of the following buildings and components:

  • Residential stable house number 26:

Two-storey half-timbered house with a massive ground floor and gable roof. Overly large window openings were broken into the ground floor and the upper floor, and the entrance to the house was not converted in accordance with a listed building. The house was either massively expanded on the gable side towards the field or rebuilt. A good original collection can still be found inside. Mention should be made of the massive staircase and the chamber passage on the upper floor with room and chamber doors from the late 19th century. The building was probably built around 1800 or in the first half of the 19th century.

  • Side building house number 26c:

Elongated two-storey half-timbered building with a gable roof. The building was probably expanded several times. The ground floor is massive, the upper floor has a narrow-stemmed and wood-rich framework with numerous tenon struts. One half of the building was used for residential purposes, with the roof space also being converted. The cubature of the building and the framework construction were retained. The building may have been built in the 18th century.

  • Former barn, now residential building, house number 26a:

The building was fundamentally rebuilt around 1999/2000. The former barn was completely gutted, all false ceilings and compartments, gates and window openings were removed. The half-timbered construction is said to have been preserved during the renovation, although the ground floor is now massive. A two-storey residential building was created, which is only reminiscent of the old barn in its cubature. Otherwise, the former use as a barn can no longer be read in any way. From the point of view of monument registration, this building has no monument value. The subsequent designation of monuments follows the stipulations of the regional monument preservation and takes into account the fact that monuments subsidies were sufficient for the preservation of the building. The barn was probably built in the 19th century.

  • Side building, today residential building, house number 26b:

The older, historically significant side building on the street side was completely demolished and replaced by a replacement building with an adapted design. The building is not designated as a cultural monument.

  • Two gates between house numbers 26 and 26b and 26b and 26a:

Both archways have been fundamentally reconstructed, presumably including remnants of the historical building fabric. The wooden gates were re-manufactured based on historical models. The archways are added to the list of monuments.

Here we follow the decision of the regional monument preservation and take into account the fact that the regional council has sufficient monuments funding. Built around 1860, around 2000 fundamental renovation or a copy of the gate entrances.

The monument value of the courtyard is exclusively based on its urban development value. Due to the far-reaching interventions in the original substance and the replacement by a copy, the system has no historical value. Due to the conversion of the buildings, the original function of the buildings can no longer be traced, so that none of the buildings has any socio-historical value.

Cottage property St. Niclaser Hauptstrasse 93
(map)
around 1800 to 1830 Half-timbered house, building characterizing the townscape with documentation value.

Monument text:

Two-storey cottage property with a rectangular floor plan, the base with clinker bricks, the ground floor plastered with brickwork, presumably not solidly built under until after 1900, the upper storey simple half-timbered structure - two-bar with pegged struts, extensions on the gable side with a sloping roof of no monument value, on the rear eaves side two-storey extension with half-timbered upper storey and gable roof (extension of the house possibly 1930s),

Inside: Parlor on the ground floor to the right of the hallway - window reveals with segmental arches (confirms the assumption that the ground floor was built around 1900), all doors on the ground floor around 1900 as well as the tiles in the hallway, on the ground floor there is still a small animal barn and toilet, a single-barreled one Wooden stairs lead to the upper floor (presumably 1950s), upper floor all half-timbered walls (including the bund walls), relatively high rooms (presumably 2.20 m high), upstairs bedrooms, one of them along the gable end, there board door with long straps, there Enlarged window, collar beam roof, single standing chair with partially flattened head braces, a room in the attic, later single plain tile and double plain tile covering, original roof truss with slips still preserved.

The house was used as a textile workers' residence and was probably built. The room on the ground floor served the home workers as a work room.

Due to the good original condition of the house, it becomes a document of the living conditions of those who work from home in the textile industry in the early 19th century. At the same time, the house shows in what way and with what materials these buildings serving the poor rural population were built. The monument value thus results from the building, local and socio-historical value of the house. (LFD / 2011)
