Side building of a four-sided courtyard as well as remains of the courtyard paving and archway | Talstrasse 29 (map) |
before 1800 | Architecturally and economically important, half-timbered building typical of the time and landscape in good original condition.
Half-timbered building typical of the time and landscape in good original condition. Probably built before 1800 (estimate based on building findings). Farm building erected on a longitudinally rectangular floor plan with a solid ground floor, half-timbered upper floor and half-hip roof. The ground floor was presumably heavily driven under afterwards. Leaf seats on the frame of the first floor suggest that the first floor of this building was originally built in half-timbered construction. The half-timbering of the upper floor is irregular. All wood connections were made by tapping. In the middle of the eaves side of the courtyard is a narrow wooden door on the upper floor, which made it easier to retrieve the harvested crop. The half-hip roof is covered with old German slate. The upper floor of the building projects on the courtyard side and thus forms a ground floor arcade. This construction, which is used for weather protection, is typical of the landscape, but can only be found sporadically in this landscape today. Insignificant structural changes were made to the building to improve the use of the building, including the installation of a garage on the ground floor with wooden gates on the courtyard side. Immediately in front of this building, remnants of the original courtyard paving have been preserved, which together with the described farm building are reminiscent of the original appearance of the courtyard. Historical courtyard paving has only been preserved in isolated cases, so that residual paving is also worth protecting. The monumental value of the side building and the rest of the courtyard paving results from their scientific importance as typical parts of a central German courtyard and from the rarity of the described arcade and courtyard paving. (LfD / 1995). Side building: Solid ground floor, good original inventory, leaf seats, cantilevered upper floor, half-timbered structure, door on the upper floor, half-hip roof. |

Rectory (with rear annex) | Thomas-Müntzer-Weg 6 (map) |
marked 1862 | Structurally and historically of importance, good original condition, scientific value as a typical, architecturally high-quality church administration building, solid building with a classicistic effect, important in terms of urban planning in the immediate vicinity of the church.
Rectory built in 1862 in the style of the time in good original condition, two-storey plastered brick building on a rectangular floor plan with a gently sloping pitched roof. On the rear side of the eaves axially attached stairwell with gable roof termination. This is followed by a single-storey extension with a jamb floor and a gable roof, which was probably added later. The facades of the rectory are structured by a circumferential cornice that integrates the sills of the upper floor windows, by porphyry window frames and the door portal, also made of porphyry, from the time it was built. The cornice of the staircase wing was decorated with a toothed frieze. The entrance to the rectory is on the eaves side of the street, which is the visible side of the building. The window on the upper floor above this entrance was highlighted by a horizontal window canopy, labeled "1862", the time the rectory was built. The two-winged front door, decorated with a beautiful wrought-iron grille, probably dates from the time it was built. The original windows were only partially preserved; most of them were replaced by windows that were adapted in their design to the original windows. The plaster of the building is probably also part of its original inventory. The external appearance of the rectory remained essentially unchanged. A good original inventory can also be found inside the building. The original room structure, the basement and the roof structure were preserved. The building was completely built with a cellar, the rooms are vaulted by a Prussian cap vault on belt arches. In the area of the stairs there is a granite water trough which originally served to supply the house with water. The staircase was renewed on the ground floor. The porphyry steps have been preserved on the upper floor. The room doors and the intermediate door on the ground floor were probably replaced by more modern doors after 1900, as their fittings suggest. The roof was designed as a collar beam roof. The rectory is set back in a garden that was originally laid out as a pleasure garden on the street side and as an orchard on the courtyard side. In the immediate vicinity is the village church, which was built just a few years in front of the rectory, and is surrounded by the walls of the cemetery. Both form an important building ensemble in the village of Langenberg. The monumental value of the rectory results from its historical value as a typical, architecturally high-quality church administration building in very good original condition (as described above), from its local historical significance as part of the spiritual and cultural center of the community of Langenberg, consisting of the village church, village school and Rectory, and its urban significance due to the ensemble effect described. (LfD / 1995). |

19th century | Structurally and socially important.
Solid construction, wooden door frame, scientific value as an architectural example of the construction in the second half of the 19th century, good original condition. Typical small residential building in open development in very good original condition. Built after 1870 according to the owners and estimates of the existing building stock. Single-storey residential building with a jamb floor, built on a rectangular floor plan. The saddle roof with different roofing, one half of the roof with slate covered with old German, the other half of the roof with subsequently applied concrete roof tiles. The brick building was plastered with a gray plaster typical of the landscape. The windows as well as the corners of the house were provided with cleaning bottles. The entrance to the house is on the eaves side facing the street and is arranged to the side. The single-leaf front door is framed by a wooden portal with a flat triangular crown and a tooth-cut frieze. The wooden shutters with locks from the time of construction have been preserved on all windows. The windows are double-sashed with skylights, winter windows are available. All windows belong to the original inventory. The rainwater is drained off via wooden gutters, which are rarely found. A single-storey boarded-up shed with a pent roof in a typical landscape design was added to the gable end of the house. The interior of the building was also in good original condition. The ground floor includes the hallway with wooden stairs, followed by the laundry room and living room. The hallway is covered with stone slabs. Two small sleeping chambers were accommodated on the jamb floor, with board doors from the time of construction. The monument value of this building results from its scientific value as an architectural example of the construction in the second half of the 19th century. Particularly noteworthy is the very good original condition of the building described above. Only a few buildings can be found that have been completely preserved both in their exterior and in their interior. This building is also of historical importance as a document of the way of life of the poorer population in the past century. These small residential buildings have rarely been preserved without disfiguring extensions. Thus, this building became a document of the way of life of the poorer sections of the population of the previous century. (LfD / 1995). |

Cottage | Bergstrasse 30 (map) |
probably 18th century | Half-timbered building in typical landscape and time-based construction, scientific value due to the good original inventory, one of the few cottages with preserved half-timbered ground floor, of architectural and social significance.
Two-storey small half-timbered house on a rectangular floor plan in a construction typical of the landscape and the time. Probably built in the 18th century (due to the cladding of the half-timbering and the roof extension, it cannot be dated exactly). Both the ground floor and the upper floor were built in half-timbered construction. On the rear side of the eaves, the half-timbering on the ground floor was partially massively replaced. The half-timbered house was subsequently clad with asbestos slate or slate. This building is completed by a half-hip roof. The windows and front door have been modernized over time. On the gable side, a half-timbered shed with a pent roof in traditional construction was added. The original room structure was retained inside. Partly there are baroque room doors, on the ground floor a baroque frame panel door with original fittings. The attic was partially expanded for residential purposes. The collar beam roof has a simple standing chair, the chair columns of which are connected to the central purlin by padded head braces. The monument value of this building results from the historical value of the building due to its very good original condition and its design style typical of the time. It must be pointed out separately that only a few cottages in this landscape area have a largely preserved half-timbered ground floor. The historical value of this building is also derived from this. (LfD / 1995). |
