Residential building | Zeunerberg 3 (map) |
1st third of the 19th century | Half-timbered house in the historic city center of Lichtenstein, of architectural, social and urban development value.
Monument text: Probably built at the beginning of the 19th century not far from the city church of Lichtenstein. Two-storey half-timbered house, the ground floor still partially covered with clay bricks, later replaced by fired bricks in larger areas. The half-timbering of the upper floor is slated or plastered. The building is completed by a gable roof. At the rear of the eaves there is a two-storey extension in the same construction at a right angle, which was probably not built at the same time as the main house. Structural changes were made on the ground floor, and the stairs to the upper floor were also renewed. The spatial structures of the half-timbered upper storey, however, were retained. The half-timbered clay walls were originally painted, but probably not plastered. Some compartments were provided with incised patterns. The wooden staircase to the top floor is in time of construction, as is the collar beam roof over the main house. The rather provisional-looking roof structure of the extension does not seem to be carpentry. The house belongs to the old town development of Lichtenstein. The structural changes are marginal, so that the house illustrates small-town building and the way of life of the poorer population of Lichtenstein in the 19th century. The monument value of the residential building results from its urban development, building and social history. (LfD / 2012) |
