List of art actions by Joseph Beuys

The German artist Joseph Beuys (1921–1986) performed 39 actions from 1963 to 1985 , many of the utensils used in them have been preserved in environments and installations .

Joseph Beuys' artistic work essentially had three focal points: In the 1950s it was mainly in the field of drawing and traditional sculpture ; This was followed in the 1960s by ritual actions with fellow artists in the context of the Fluxus movement , which at first were more of a secret "art spectacle". Beuys only became known to the wider public after an action at the “Festival of New Art” in Aachen on July 20, 1964, when an angry student attacked him.
