The list of cities in Iraq provides an overview of the development of the population of the larger cities of the Middle East state of Iraq .
By far the largest agglomeration in Iraq is Baghdad with a population of 8,044,930 (as of January 1, 2007). This means that around 30 percent of the country's people live in the capital region.
The following table contains the cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants, their names in German transcription and in Arabic, the results of the population censuses (VZ) of October 14, 1965 and October 17, 1987, and a calculation for July 1, 2015. This is also listed Governorate to which the city belongs. The population figures refer to the actual city without the suburbs.
