List of streets and squares in Bechtolsheim

Overview
The picture on the right shows Bechtolsheim from above the Petersberg . In the foreground you can see some fields and in the right half of the picture a few rows of vines that lead up to the Petersberg. The picture begins on the left with the end of the cemetery. The first four rows of houses, with mostly dark roofing, are the old new building area from the 1970s. It extends to the road that then becomes a dirt road and runs towards the vineyard. After that, the 2.5 rows of houses (mainly covered in red) is the new building area of the 1990s. In the right half of the picture you can see the grass field (soccer field) of the sports field.
After the four rows of houses mentioned above, you can see a continuous row of trees. This is the old village moat ( Gebück ). Today this can be used as a footpath and bike path. The bridge and a large part of Langgasse is protected as a monument zone . Behind it, up to the next row of trees, the old town center joins; this row of trees runs along the banks of the Selz . Behind in the upper center of the picture the greenish building and the fallow land to the right of it belong to the largest local company, Ehlego. Behind it is the new building area Am Wingertstor from the 2000s.
A district road (K 31) ran through the municipality until October 2010 , after which it was downgraded to a municipal road and at the same time a speed limit of 30 , which previously only existed in the old new development areas, was extended to almost the entire local area, only the state road (L 436) Undenheimer Straße remained at 50 km / h as a thoroughfare .

Places
The places in Bechtolsheim have no official name. Nevertheless, there is the "Free Place" which was artistically provided in 2004 with a fountain with geese and a shepherd, the so-called goose fountain. At Freie Platz, Bahnhofstrasse turns into Langgasse (both part of Kreisstrasse 31). The Sulzheimer street and front of the castle lead here.
The "Kerbeplatz" can be reached via the street Hinter dem Schloss . The Kerbeplatz is bordered by the kindergarten and the SPD hut in the south, the fire station in the north and the Selz in the east. The square is used for various events throughout the year, including the Christmas fir tree burning, the fire brigade festival, the eponymous parish fair, and the conclusion of the St. Martin parade. If there are no events, it is used as a parking lot.
The square in front of the church , also known as the churchyard, has three owners, the two parishes (Protestant and Catholic) and the political community.
exhibition
In the summer of 2016, the local history association Bechtolsheim showed an exhibition with old pictures and historical street and cadastral maps of Bechtolsheim in its own museum in the bell tower under the title “Bechtolsheimer Straßengeschichten” . An overview of the name changes of individual streets rounded off the exhibition.
