William Oscar Mulkey

William Oscar Mulkey (born July 27, 1871 in Brundidge , Pike County , Alabama , † June 30, 1943 in Geneva , Geneva County , Alabama) was an American lawyer and politician ( Democratic Party ).

Career

William Oscar Mulkey attended public school and then graduated from State Normal College in Troy, Alabama , in 1892 . He studied law , was admitted to the bar in 1893, and then began practicing in Troy in 1894. Mulkey also had a political career. In 1901 he took part as a delegate to the Alabama Constituent Assembly . Then in 1911 he was a member of the Alabama House of Representatives . He was elected to the 63rd US Congress to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Henry D. Clayton . Mulkey served in the US House of Representatives from June 29, 1914 to March 3, 1915. In 1914 he decided against running for the 64th US Congress . After his term in office he resumed his practice as a lawyer.
