Taul Bradford

Taul Bradford (born January 20, 1835 in Talladega , Talladega County , Alabama , † October 28, 1883 ibid) was an American lawyer and politician ( Democratic Party ).

Career

Taul Bradford attended the local school. Then he graduated from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa in 1854 . He studied law , was admitted to the bar in 1855 and then began practicing in Talladega. He served in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War . There he held the rank of major in the 10th Regiment , Alabama Infantry and then a Lieutenant Colonel in the 30th Regiment, Alabama Infantry.

Bradford also had a political career. He served in the Alabama House of Representatives in 1871 and 1872 . Then he was elected to the 44th US Congress , where he served from March 4, 1875 to March 3, 1877. In 1876 he decided not to run for re-election. He then resumed his legal work in Talladega, which he pursued until his death. He was buried there in Oak Hill Cemetery .
