Oscar Lee Gray

Oscar Lee Gray (born July 2, 1865 in Mississippi , † January 2, 1936 in Shreveport , Caddo Parish , Louisiana ) was an American lawyer, judge and politician ( Democratic Party ).

Career

Oscar Lee Gray attended community school in Choctaw County and then graduated from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa in 1885 . After that he taught for several years. He studied law and began practicing after his admission to the bar in Alabama. He also served as superintendent of education in Choctaw County. Gray was a solicitor in the Alabama First Judicial District between 1904 and 1910 . He took part in 1912 as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention . He was then elected to the 64th US Congress and re - elected to the subsequent 65th US Congress . He served in the US House of Representatives from March 4, 1915 to March 3, 1919. He then resumed his practice as a lawyer. In November 1934, he was elected a judge in the Alabama First Judicial District.

Oscar Lee Gray died in Shreveport in 1936 and was buried there in Forest Park Cemetery .
