Robert Terry Everett (born February 15, 1937 in Dothan , Houston County , Alabama ) is an American politician ( Republican Party ).

Career

Robert Terry Everett attended public school in Midland City, Alabama. Then he attended Enterprise State Junior College . Everett served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959 . During this time he was stationed as an Intelligence Specialist in Europe , where he learned Russian . He then worked as a sports and police reporter for the Dothan Eagle . Over time, he became the owner of a newspaper chain, as well as a large farm and real estate estate. In 1988 he sold everything but one of his holdings.

Everett also had a political career. He was elected to the 103rd US Congress and re - elected to the seven subsequent US Congresses . Everett served in the US House of Representatives from January 3, 1993 to January 3, 2009. He did not run for the 111th US Congress in 2008 .

Robert Terry Everett is married to Barbara Pitts. You are both Southern Baptists .
