Robert Brown Aderholt

Robert Brown Aderholt (born July 22, 1965 in Haleyville , Winston County , Alabama ) is an American politician ( Republican Party ).

Career

Robert Brown Aderholt received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Birmingham Southern College in 1987 and a Juris Doctor degree from Samford University in 1990 , both in Birmingham, Alabama. He studied law and then also worked as a lawyer. He later served as a district judge in Haleyville between 1992 and 1995. Aderholt served on Governor Fob James ' staff between 1995 and 1996 . He was elected to the 105th US Congress and re - elected to the six subsequent US Congresses . There he has been working in the US House of Representatives since January 3, 1997 . Aderholt is a member of the Republican Party and belongs to the Tea Party movement within this party . Among other things, he is an opponent of a tightening of the American gun law. In Congress, he is a member of the United States House Committee on Appropriations and three sub-committees. He is also a member of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe .

Since he was re-elected in 2016 and 2018, he is also a member of the 116th Congress of the United States, which met for the first time on January 3, 2019 . Its current legislative period runs until January 2021.
