List of devastations in Frankfurt am Main

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list shows the desert areas in Frankfurt am Main and in the immediate vicinity.

Preliminary remarks: The existence of desolations is typically proven by mentioning them in documents or on maps. The date of the first mention is therefore typically not a date of foundation; it was founded earlier. The dating of the abandonment of settlements is even less precise. If there are no map details with the note Wüstung , the point in time can only be estimated by the fact that the place name no longer appears in documents from a certain point in time. The localization is also mostly imprecise. Sources for this are field names or historical maps. The given geographic coordinates are therefore not to be understood as exact information. The variety of spellings is also typical. In some cases it is not possible to judge whether two names also referred to two places or whether these were just spellings.
