The castle-like three-storey building on the market square dates from the mid-16th century, but was later renovated. It served as the seat of the district court of the Pittersberg rule, later as the seat of the district court. On the nine-axis facade facing the church, the windows of which are decorated with paintings, there are two wall paintings: coat of arms (1713) and angel fall (1814); the other three sides of the house are unadorned. Attached to the building is a round arched square portal that comes from the Pittersberg castle ruins .

The core of the nave and the eastern entrance tower with wall slits - a former choir tower - date from the 13th century. The profiled ogival portals on the east and south sides of the church indicate that the church was reoriented in the late Gothic period. In 1742 a western choir was added, and the northern aisle was added in the Baroque era. There are murals on the south wall of the church, as well as in the ribbed vaulted nave. The main altar in rococo style with sacrificial portals dates from the middle of the 18th century, the side altars are about 100 years older. There are also three heraldic grave plates in the church.

The simple late Gothic building was initially the chapel of Weildegg Castle and was expanded in 1770 and transformed into a parish church. In 1957, a mural (crucifixion) from the construction period, i.e. from the beginning of the 16th century, was exposed on the end wall of the choir. During an interior restoration in 1993, the late Gothic architectural polychromy was reconstructed. The star vault made of looped ribs in the choir is similar to that of the parish church in Kötschach. The furnishings include a pulpit, prayer chairs and an organ in neo-Gothic style.
