Relay hall with a basilica exterior (12th century) and late Romanesque east tower (13th century), as well as vaults from the 16th century, changes in the 19th and 20th centuries, emerged from a castle-church complex of the 11th century (?) , 1220 documented branch of Traiskirchen, 1312 parish incorporated into Melk Abbey, 1529 fire, destruction at the beginning of the 18th century, 1855 and 1887 fires.

The Wiener Neustädter Canal was put into operation in 1803 and extended up to 63 km. Originally it was planned as far as Trieste . Parts of the route were later converted to railway lines, so that the movement of goods fell sharply from 1879 onwards.
