The oldest components of the castle date from the second half of the 13th century, whereby the complex was expanded and rebuilt several times while retaining the majority of the medieval substance. The complex includes the old and the new castle, a chapel, a summer house, a bailey and parks.

The workers' houses were built in 1871/72 according to plans by Mathias Weixelbaumer. The three houses with pitched roofs correspond to the type of urban tenement houses.

The Romanesque nave was converted into a late Gothic, two-aisled hall church and vaulted in the second half of the 15th century. The choir was built around 1500, the tower was redesigned in baroque style in 1741. The Marienkapelle and the sacristy were added in 1519 and in the second half of the 17th century.

The tabernacle column on the southern outskirts showed pictures of St. Florian and Martin, which, however, had already been completely weathered by a local inspection in 2011. The column is marked with the year 1722 .

The municipal office originally served as a school and has been the official seat of the municipal administration since 1955. The building itself was built in 1856 with a passage from the market square to the church.

The Lauerturm or Kettenturm is a chain lock tower with a left bank on the Danube, which belonged to Neuhaus Castle . It was built in the 14th century to collect tolls on the Danube.
