The Lichtenau Castle is a Renaissance castle on a flat outcrop overlooking the valley of the Great Muehl . The former medieval castle was substantially rebuilt and rebuilt around 1600 and converted into a four-wing complex. After a fire in 1945 it was rebuilt, with the east wing and parts of the north wing being demolished in 1969.

The stately gable building with a polygonal choir and wood-paneled gable turret houses a simple, rustic interior with a depiction of the epiphany on the altar sheet. The chapel is marked with the year 1891 .
