List of French ambassadors in Algeria
In the 1962 peace agreement on the Algerian War, the governments of Charles de Gaulle and Ahmed Ben Bella agreed on special relations. After his mission as the first ambassador to Algeria , Jean-Marcel Jeanneney was rapporteur for the commission La politique de coopération avec les pays en voie de développement, with which the term development cooperation was coined for the policy of de-engagement.
