List of French ambassadors in Turkey

The French diplomatic mission in the Ottoman Empire is shown in the list of French ambassadors at the Sublime Porte .

From October 29, 1914 until the USA entered the war on April 6, 1917 with the German Empire and on April 21, 1917 with the Ottoman Empire, the interests of French citizens in the Ottoman Empire were safeguarded by the US diplomatic mission. These tasks were then taken over by the diplomatic mission of the Netherlands. The consular duties in the administrative district of Palestine were performed by the representation of the Kingdom of Spain.

2. ↑ Jules Henry: Il connaît, en outre, une entrée en fonction difficile. Jules Henry, chargé d'affaires à l'ambassade, assure l'intérim depuis le départ de Bonnet. Après dix-sept ans passés aux États-Unis, il considère que le moment est venu pour lui d'être nommé ambassadeur. La nomination de Saint-Quentin est donc, à ses yeux, une injustice. Ce qu'il ne manque pas de faire savoir au nouveau venu, qui est, comme on peut imaginer, très mal accueilli. Quand on sait que Jules Henry est nommé, peu de temps après, sous-directeur d'Amérique au Quai d'Orsay, on conçoit que la mission de Saint-Quentin ne s'annonce pas facile…
