Bernard Hardion

Bernard Hardion (born June 22, 1899 in Tours , † 1986 ) was a French diplomat .

Life

Bernard Hardion was the son of Germaine Faucheux and Jean-Marie-Louis Hardion, architect of the Grand Théâtre de Tours. On April 24, 1929 he married Nellie Voisin, their children were Christiane, Jacques and Béatrice. He attended the Lycée Descartes in Tours and the Lycée Louis-le-Grand in Paris and studied at the Sorbonne . In 1930 he became secretary of legation in Tehran , where he was on 19 June 1933 to 29 March 1934 d'affaires . In 1934 he became secretary of the embassy in Mexico City and was chargé d'affaires there from May 6, 1935 to October 20, 1935. On January 10, 1936, he was accepted into the Legion of Honor . In 1938 he replaced Albert Lamarle as first-class delegation secretary in Berlin . In early September 1939 he was the office manager of Georges Bonnet . From September 27, 1969 to January 3, 1940 he was chargé d'affaires in Mexico City and from 1940 to 1943 he was employed by the resident in Rabat .

On November 14, 1942, François Darlan proclaimed himself “ High Commissioner of France in Africa ” in Algiers . In this zone of occupation Hardion was 1944 Chargé .

From 1945 to 1951, Bernard Hardion was Chargé d'Affaires in Madrid . From December 17, 1953 to 1960 he was Ambassador to Rio de Janeiro and from April 1, 1963 to May 26, 1965, Ambassador to Ankara .
